Our Pandemic Response

our pandemic response for covid 19

In preparation for the 2020/2021 school year, CMS unveiled our Pandemic Response Plan.  Our response plan was built around a stepped return to the classroom.  This six step return allowed for the Head of School or Board of Directors to be able to move up and down the grid based on the level of exposure and risk each classroom experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Each family was strongly advised that the best way to ensure that CMS was able to stay open and avoid further lockdowns is to stay home so their students can go to school.  The stepped re-entry included limitations to the numbers of students and adults in each classroom. Each classrooms functioned as a cohort and any intermingling of the classrooms was limited to outside the school building.  All persons on campus were required to be masked full time without exception. A commitment to online learning for the duration of the school year.  We believed that by offering the online classroom as a part of each students daily classroom routine that our families were better able to make decisions which ensured that the CMS community remained healthy and safe.  Each family at CMS agreed to the policies outlined in our Pandemic Policy addendum to their contract.  In addition to the daily operational adjustments we enhanced daily and weekly cleaning procedures.

With the commitment and dedication of our community we were able to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in our building throughout the pandemic. Currently, masking is optional and many of students prefer to continue to wear their masks. We now encourage mask wearing when showing symptoms of any illness as part of the classroom grace and courtesy lessons.
